A set of 6 custom boilers to heat several 12,000 gallon tanks. The tanks were made fro a thick plastic and could not support a heavyweight boiler. They were also stuck in position and already in use. The warehouse they were kept in had a 15 foot roof clearance. The boilers needed to be lifted and moved into place without moving the tanks.

The boiler needed to be…

  • Less than 12 feet tall
  • Less than 16″ across
  • 10 stainless steel tube loops at least 6 feet tall
  • Centered to the tank as much as possible
  • Able to be detached and pulled out for maintinance
  • Light enough to not collapse the plastic shell of the tank

I designed this boiler, created the CAD model, created the fabrication plan, made the drawings, oversaw the building process, and assisted in installing the boilers into the tanks.

I was able to fit 12 looped tubes into the 16″ perforated cylinder. Which allowed for the tank to be heated more efficiently.
