The IRIS or Integrated Reticle Inspection System is an in-house design reticle inspection tool. It uses a KUKA robot and has many customizable features.
Using SolidWorks, I redesigned a custom case and worked with the VDGE dsigners to create an improved version of the IRIS shell. VDGE requested any design changes that could make the build more quiet and easy to build. I was able to simplify the manufacturing process by creating 3D files of the frame work which could be cut on a 3D plasma cutter. To reduce the noise from vibration, I added in a tolerance between all metal touch points. This allowed strips of vibration resistant sound deadening material to be added between each sheet.
